Paul McCartney 's first wife Linda McCartney died of breast cancer April 17, 1998. Known for more than just being a famous wife, she was an excellent photographer. She worked for Rolling Stone magazine, and was the first woman to have a picture featured on the cover of the magazine. Later in her life she had her own picture taken for the cover of Rolling Stone, and she is the only person to have ever photographed and been photographed for the cover of the magazine. On the Rolling Stone website they have a sneak peak at an exhibition of her life's work.
